Welcome to TeachingBug.com, Mrs. Ferreiro’s personal website! Welcome Gehring Geckos and family! I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Roger D. Gehring Elementary School for the 2011-2012 school year. We have so much to learn and review. Many new skills and concepts will be introduced in second grade and I look forward to working with you to master them all.

My goal is to have a positive learning environment where everyone respects one another and feels comfortable in our classroom. I think that can be achieved by building a community of trust and by setting high expectations. With that said, I expect all students to be accountable for themselves and their work.

This year our school theme is Be Kind.  We began it late last year and are going to continue to Be Kind and not tolerate bullying for the 2011-2012 school year.  Our theme was inspired by The Josh Stevens Foundation.  If you have your Be kind...It Rocks shirt from last year, then wear it every Friday.  If you don't have one, you can purchase one in the office.

This website is designed to keep everyone involved with what is going on in our classroom and the educational community. I like to think of my classroom policy as open door and open arm. Therefore, this website is just another tool for students and family to use to feel more like a part of the classroom community.
